Kevin and Craig,
I just want to thank you both again for the great time I had on my first hunting trip to "Heart of Texas Bowhunting". Hunting with my two sons for the first time on such an awesome ranch has been an experience of a lifetime.
I have been hunting for the past 45 years in Wisconsin, and never would have thought there could ever be more deer sightings than I witnessed in the four days I spent at "Heart of Texas Bowhunting", with quite a few nice bucks too! My son's, Mike and Jeff, talked to me all year about how great a hunting experience I would have, and it was more than I ever imagined.
The cleanliness of your cabins, the easy access to the property, and layout of your hunting sections to ensure your clients are able to hunt uninterrupted by others is all a plus.
At evenings end, it is great to see that you guys are out there when we return, eagerly waiting to see how each and every hunter has done during their day. The commitment you gentlemen have made to enhance the growth of trophy whitetail is apparent in your Quality Deer Management program. Those small forks, six and eight pointers, that I passed up, will be some pretty nice looking bucks next year. Keep up the hard work, so bow hunters like me can experience the hunt of a lifetime at "Heart of Texas Bowhunting".
It was a pleasure to have met you both, and am looking forward to seeing you in October, 2007.

I just wanted to sent thanks for a wonderful time hunting your ranch this past weekend. I have hunted two other ranches in your area of Texas and have never had as much fun as this past weekend.
I like the way you operate. Your rules and enforcement of really make your ranch a great place to hunt. I never figured that hunting on the last weekend of the season would allow me the opportunity to see so many quality bucks and have them in bow range. I could have shot two legal bucks but after my encounter with "crazy horns", I knew the cailber of buck that I was after. I have never killed a buck with my bow and some may think that I am crazy for passing two shots on quality bucks, but I will be back next year and the two quality bucks will be trophies.
A special thanks for your willingness to help out with advice and equipment. Without your suggestions and recommendations, I may have never had the encounters that I had. I feel that I learned a great deal from hunting your ranch and by visiting with each of you. Taking "crazy horns" would have been a bonus, but I consider my three days of hunting the most enjoyable that I have ever had.
I look forward to next years hunt, and when you get some trail photos of "crazy horns" I would love to see them.

Craig and Kevin,
I would like to thank you for this past bow season down at "Heart Of Texas Bowhunting". I was fortunate to get down there on 3 separate occasions and they all were special.
The first hunt with my brother from Wisconsin was awesome. Being from Wisconsin my brother and I are use to seeing large whitetails. We both saw mature bucks on the very first hunt and the memories of my brother's first Texas buck will never be forgotten.
The second hunt with my 10 year old son was one I will never forget. My son and I have been out hunting before, however, he has never seen deer while on stand. For him to see deer the very first morning and to be there when I shot at a deer was great. He was so excited! That hunt was so great because I got to share with him stand location, wind direction and the difference between the ages of bucks. These are the same things that my father shared with me when I was his age. We will be upgrading his bow this off season so he can go after his first deer next season.
The third trip down was also special because I got to harvest my first deer with a bow. Even though it came on the last weekend of doe hunting, it will always be special. I was able to bring a friend down and introduce him to bow hunting. The experience he had on stand and at the ranch was great. He learned a lot about how bow hunting is so much different than gun hunting. He has mentioned that he will be going out to purchase that new bow and this is a direct result of how you two gentlemen explain the sport to him and your hospitality.
During these three trips, I saw almost 200 deer on stand. The buck to doe ratio was almost 1 to 1. The quality of deer that you have is sensational!
By practicing Quality Deer Management (QDM), it creates a healthy, well balanced deer herd. This is something you both have. Also, your QDM will continue to create an older age structure among bucks and this will only benefit the bow hunters experience while at "Heart Of Texas Bowhunting". With the year round protein and feeding program that you established for your herd, it only means better hunting in the future.
By only allowing 16 bow hunters per week, the pressure on the deer is very minimal. I like the fact that you only allow 2 hunters per section (average of 450-500 acres) is great. I never had to worry about seeing another hunter in the woods and this is what I look for in an outfitter.
I had the opportunity to stay in all three of your cabins and the lodging was comfortable and fun. The after hunt stories while frying up the backstraps was superb.
I look forward to booking my spring Turkey hunt and next fall bow hunts with you. My brother has already booked again and will bringing his other hunting buddies.
Once again, thank you for the best bow season that I have ever had and the memories that came with them. I will recommend "Heart Of Texas Bowhunting" to all my fellow hunting brothers and sisters for an experience they won't be disappointed in.
Until the next hunt,

I want to thank Craig and you for a great bow hunting experience in 2005. I have bow hunted for thirty years and had the privilege of hunting several ranches throughout Texas from the red river in the North to Eagle Pass along the border of Texas and Mexico. I don’t know who came up with the Heart of Texas name, however from my perspective, they hit a home run! In fact the ranch initials say it all. The Heart of Texas isHoT!
The ranch provides it all for the bow hunter; variable hunting terrain, lodging accommodations, and most of all Trophy White Tail. All this is provided at an unbelievable price. .Most ranches will charge you hundreds of dollars more and deliver less that what you get at the Heart of Texas. While I only got the opportunity to visit the ranch once my expectations were met after the first morning. I saw to many bucks to remember and several that would have been the best buck ever for me. One in particular was a trophy of a lifetime and just one of many reasons we have booked for the 2006 season already.
The White tail hunting season has been a tradition for me and my two sons for many years and now that they are older it is difficult to get our schedules together. Thanks to you and the Heart of Texas ranch we have found our annual hunting camp and we will be back. See you in 317 days!

Kevin and Craig,
I'd like to thank you both again for a fantastic time at Heart of Texas Bowhunting. I hunt in some very productive areas here in Wisconsin, with some very nice deer. I can't remember a more enjoyable 3 days of hunting whitetails. We have some great times with family & friends here but the quality and quantity of the deer that I experienced while I was there was incredible. It is very obvious that you two have worked very hard to put together a quality bowhunting operation that we can all enjoy and afford. I hope everyone who visits you camp realizes that. I have spread the word to everyone that I know here about the great experience that Mike and myself had with your accommodations, service and hunting potential that Heart of Texas Bowhunting has to offer. As most of your clients, I have a number a friends who are whitetail fanatics. I have assured them that they would not be disappointed with the quality of hunt that you and your property provides. I was successful, but that was the icing on the cake. I would have left your camp with the same feeling even if I hadn't gotten my buck. I told Kevin after my first time on stand that, the trip was already great. It was obvious to me that the property had what I was looking for. after just a few hours on stand.
Keep up the great work. I'm looking forward to making another trip down to Heart of Texas Bowhunting, with several others and can't wait to see how all those beautiful young bucks that we saw respond to your management efforts.

Kevin and Craig,
I just wanted to thank both of you for accommodating both my colleagues and my family for the two weekends of hunting I got to enjoy in the past month. You guys are doing an excellent job and have inherited a long term client for as long as the ranch is in operation. The quality of animals you guys have on the ranch is outstanding but also the abundance of wildlife makes each hunt interesting and exciting. I am looking forward to my next opportunity to take down a trophy whitetail and hope that I can make accommodations this spring to tackle an axis and a spring tom. Thanks for all that you two have done to develop a premier bow hunting ranch at an affordable rate. I look forward to booking my next few hunts soon.
P.S. Any chance of finding the deer in area 2?

Re: Awesome Hunt
I am writing to say thanks for your efforts in providing me with an absolutely awesome hunt this past weekend. I knew when I scouted your property earlier this year I was in for a great experience. Your facilities and set-up afforded me more opportunities to harvest not only the best quality white-tail deer I’ve ever hunted, but exotic deer as well. When I return, I will not make the mistake of not purchasing the exotic tag again.
Since I can remember, I have hunted Texas white tail. My father and late grandfather taught me most of the hunting skills and tactics I still employ today. The biggest lesson they ever taught me was respect for the land and its’ bounty. It is through their years of training I have come to understand many factors important to game management. For the past 20 years I have been bow hunting. I have had the good fortune to test my skills in several highly recommended areas in the state of Texas. It is sad to say, most of these areas fall short of what I believe a good game management program really is. The commitment to the wild life and the land is sacrificed. Over hunting, loose policies and poor management insure certain demise for their long term “quality” hunting.
I can tell as a hunter you have hunted some of these same areas. Your combined knowledge of the land, the wild life and the obvious commitment you both have made to this venture is certain to be a success. You have incorporated simple, yet vital guidelines to make this a trophy hunting facility for years to come. It was a great pleasure hunting at the Heart of Texas. I saw numerous deer with many trophy bucks, lots of axis and lots of turkey. The best part was the number of tremendous young bucks for next year.
While your management program may not be understood by many, I know you have set the stage for years of quality deer hunting. I wish you continued success and look forward to my next trip to the Heart of Texas.

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the truly great hunting experience. The 2007-2008 season was my first to bow hunt.
I am not sure if I can ever bring myself to rifle hunt again. Your ranch and efforts where outstanding. The information,
training, and facilities where absolutely top notch. I have never been able to observe so many outstanding bucks and doe.
There are many places where I have been faced with the question, "is this all this land has to offer?"
In contrast while hunting the Heart of Texas I kept telling myself "I must be dreaming!" Thank you for helping with my addiction.
I will be singing the praises of The Heart of Texas Bowhunting Ranch for years to come! As per your request I have sent you the
jawbone from the buck I harvested.
Please let me know what information you get from it.

Kevin & Craig
Just wanted to drop you a note and thank you for the great time that you provided us.
Your operation is first class and your commitment to your hunters and wildlife should be commended.
The management methods you are using are working. Everyone in our party was very pleased with the outcome of the hunt.
All eight of the hunters saw plenty of deer and had a chance to harvest a quality buck and or doe.
I was amazed at the amount of deer I saw on each hunt. I had them at my location before I arrived and had to wait them
out at the end of the day to get out of my blind. I was covered up with deer.
I would recommend Heart Of Texas Bowhunting to anyone looking for a quality bow hunting experience.
I would also advise anyone hunting to listen during the orientation and use the tips and techniques you offer.
Thank you again

Hey Kevin and Craig,
I wanted to write you guys and let you know how much I enjoyed coming down and hunting with you guys.
I have never experienced anything like the hunt I had with you. In three days I saw more deer than I would see
in 5 seasons at home. I passed on the biggest buck I have ever had in front of me on that first afternoon and even
though I came back empty handed It was the best hunting experience I've had in my life. Without exaggeration I saw
at least 60 bucks and 30 does in 3 days. Like I had told you when I called on my way home
"I didn't come to Texas to kill deer. I come to Texas to kill "A" deer." Give me a call if anyone cancels for any
reason because I'm dying to get back down there this year. I bought me a brand new video camera and a mounting system
so I'm ready to try it out as well.
You guys did everything within your power to make every hunter successful and I commend you for your dedication to
making it affordable for average working guys to be able to experience a hunt like your place provides.
Take care of yourselves and if you ever head towards NC in the summer give me a call and we can do some trout fishing.
Thanks Jason Raxter
